A Violet City native, Veila had been idolizing the town's gym leader Falkner all her life.
On her 12th birthday she received an egg that soon hatched into a Togepi, eventually evolving it into a Togetic.
Once evolved she decided to challenge Falkner, who she defeated quite easily. Dissapointed by her lifelong idol, she decided to depart on a journey to become the best Flying type master the world has ever seen. To become what she thought Falkner had been all along.
