I honestly see your point since I'm a zboomer but having more options in moves can only ever be a good thing. Pokemon with certain types would be forced to specialize in a specific offensive stat or else their STAB would be useless. You create a more diverse meta where pokemon with same types and different offenses can both be good. And let's face it, pokemon basically would run out of moves since there's only 3-ish decent attacking moves for every type.
