>>48381358I really don't understand how you people can be so stubborn. If pokemon is the only franchise you partake in and ignore the vast number of franchises with animals that also have those traits, plus actually talking, you are a hopeless cause.
>>48377821You again are fixated that everything has to be exactly the same as the thing it's meant to imitate. No, that's not how it works. A lot of cartoons have beasts that don't behave like real beasts because it's fiction and they're not restrained by real world logic. And you can have many identities . Pokemon being monsters doesn't take away from the point im making as I already explained about franchises where the monster have multiple identities. One of the key differences in what makes pokemon unique is that the wild life and the monsters are one in the same. There's no 'animal barrier' like other franchises have. Pokemon are often presented as a collective meaning that even something that looks alien like chansey is in the same grouping as a familiar looking pokemon like pidgey. It eases us into accepting pokemon as beasts.
Again you can't hand wave imagery used and just trying to say it's based off something. That's not how it works. When those types of images and context are used they're done because the creators want us to see it as that. For another recent example look at how the day care in legends of arceus looks like, it literally looks like a real place where you herd animals inside. Things of that nature are done deliberately and if you weren't so stubborn you could easily tell that pokemon are meant to be the animals of their world even if they're fictional and fantastical otherwise why even bother building up that image?
