The entire Ampharos line was Electric-type in the beta, but are themed around the lightbulb on their tail. There’s even that portion in the finished game where you deliver medicine to an Ampharos so it can keep a lighthouse lit. Clearly the Electric-typing was planned from the start, but the light motif is pretty obvious here.
As mentioned with Umbreon/Espeon, G/S are also loaded with sun/moon themed Pokemon to complement the day/night cycle.
In the beta, Sunflora is a Grass/Psychic type. The Psychic-typing (again, probably a placeholder for Light, since this is a fucking sunflower) was scrapped, and Sunflora remains a weird and easily forgotten Grass type. They even introduced an entire Sun stone just to evolve Bellossom and this stupid thing.
Sentret & Ursaring also have a full-moon theme and are nocturnal, but share Normal-typing. I’m not suggesting they were originally light-type, just worth a mention in the solar/lunar category.
