I'm pretty happy with the pack where it's at. I grant that there's been some confusion, and some confidence lost with the performance of the other packs, but v3.1 is STABLE so far for most of the server regulars.
That said, I'm improving it right now. Part of high CPU overhead is DH aggressively trying to generate LODs (in the past, I had pre-generated these LODs for you). Another part is that I'm sending a chunk load radius of 10 to clients as opposed to 6 (to make up for the lack of LODS, mostly). Also, some of the initial configurations in the patch were MY initial configs, tailored to my PC, which caused some problems. Even in the current state, there's mostly a minute or two of chugging on entering a world, after which the FPS will jump back to whatever is normal for your computer for the entirety of your session.
Sometime this weekend, I'll post an adjusted form of the v3.1 pack that has configs and mods tailors for low-spec machines, all the nearby relevant LODs pre-generated, and even Xaero data. I spent hours last night just flying around on Pidgeot to make these (there's a way to do it in single player but it fucks up on transference). Most people who already managed to get on the server don't really need this pack at all, but might consider downloading it at least for the pre-generated LODs as they will cover a large area. The original pack should already have sensible button configs (looking at

Also Dielaw for the love of god please turn off your CUSTOMER ATTRACTER 9000. You did a really great job on it. It persists through resets. It's also hella annoying and evokes an agonizing headache.
