Ended up wiping except for my budew, trying again. Using the following rules:
>Each Pokémon that faints is considered dead and must be release.
>You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in an area unless it is a duplicate.
>If the first unique pokemon faints the area is lost.
>All Pokémon must be nicknamed
>Each pokecenter may only be used once.
>Pokemarts may only be used to buy pokeballs.
>All other items in the game are fair game for use.
