>>52919750>I believe a simple fix would be figuring out a way to make humans no longer obsessed with growth in the way we are.Changing something so fundamental would require extreme government control, religious adherence or trans/posthuman technology to be implemented.
>I think the west, while the main perpetuating force, is not necessarily the root here. The issue exists in all countries that have a rapidly eroding national identity.I feel it's deeper even than that. I just brought up the west because it's the most blatant current example. No this kind of thing is just the nature of people, these cycles that play out in societies over time. I'm no pagan, but the kali yuga, ragnarok cycle etc etc, they were right on the money. It's the hard times > strong men > good times > weak men > hard times meme made manifest.
>But I do think it's important to stop preying on dumbasses as a primary mechanism to grow your company, because that just incentivizes you to want to make more dumbasses.Kinda repeating myself here, but yeah while I'm sure it is possible to fix this one thing, hell I'd be over the moon happy to see it, it really is just dealing with the symptom over the cause. But hey, we all have our price. I think I'd maybe be willing to ignore the world if they leave my vidya alone. Sad as it is.
