Probably because the main premise is kind of weak to begin with, imo. So we actively decide to get involved in gang crime between 8 groups that (presumably) fucked our home region with their bullshit & claim they're from some other dimension, then we slave for one (1) of those eight lunatics in order to get them to return to wherever the fuck they came from, risking our own life in the process... just to get access to Pokemon? How poor & far away from wild Pokemon are we that this is our best option, instead of just going into tall grass & befriending whatever you find there?
