>>43394819>1-BrokenThe majority of people only pokemon by the original 151... Gen 1 is literally the most beloved by the general public. The problems with the gen 1 games is just a hardcore fan thing.
>2-Level CurveAgain, it's a issue only hardcore fans notice. Most see gen 2 as the true sequel of pokemon. The biggest problem is however that Pokemaina died off during mid-gen 2, but it has more to do with poor marketing decisions.
>3-WaterThis is the most correct one. Gen 3 was hugely divided during the release. But it got fanfare later in its lifespan and gen 3 was the base for the current hardcore following.
>4-SlowGen 4 was the renaissance of Pokemon's newfound popularity. The casuals were showing interest again thanks to the huge userbase of the Nintendo DS. The hardcore community began to take form. Many consider Platinum/HGSS as the best games in the franchise.
>5-LinearGen 5's reception similar to gen 3, but more extreme. People hated it during release and many still do. It is where the overly linearly of the main games begun. The pokemon design was also hugely polarizing. However, many did also fall in love for gen 5 and some also consider BW2 as among the best.
Gen 5 takes the prize for being the most polarized.
>6-LinearGen 6 was not polarizing, very few really liked gen 6. Besides Mega Evolution and Hex Maniac, I didn't remember anything from gen 6 at all..
>7-CutsceneCorrect, because of some DO like the athletics and design-decisions of gen 7. Pokemon Go helped the sales also. The reception is still more on the negative side but is placed third for the most polarizing game after gen 3 and gen 5.
>8-dexitPokemon as a franchise has never been more hated at this point. TPC is going full force EA Games, the games have even less content than gen 6 and early gen 3 although it's running on the freaking SWITCH!
The only thing that would be polarized is the reason why people are braindead enough to push the games to almost 20 million sales!
