I compiled gen 3, since nobody else was doing it at the time, but I don't know whether gens 1 and 2 were done by the same person, which is possible, given that both of them were collected as dodgy .gifs. I have have no idea if that anon kept the original files or just dragged and dropped into whatever program they were using. It may be worthwhile after gen 5 is done to go back and salvage any of the originals we can, and redo the first two dexs. Also Here's gen 2 in all it's lossy glory.
