Of course mainstream normie fans don't like it because they can't use Crobat like in every other game and it's not 3D and you know 3D is inherently better because it's newer. But for people who actually like (or prefer!) innovative Pokemon designs and enjoy spritework these things aren't problems.
Anyway, the only real reason gen 5 sold poorly was because it was released during the midst of the global recession and literally everything was selling poorly.
