Grass alligator, fire crawfish, water cottonmouth
The grass alligator is because of how they surface under duckweed and look mossy, and the way they use sticks to trick birds. It starts on two legs but gets on all flours as it evolves. Not sure about the secondary type, maybe dark so it can use crunch? And it’d have a signature grass type biting move that can turn into a death roll z move.
The crawfish is fire typed because of crawfish boils and the red color because it’s good for kids to know what type their first mon is. Eventually evolves into a pistol shrimp type thing poking out of a tall crawfish burrow and becomes fire/ground (mud bug).
The cottonmouth is the world’s only semi aquatic viper, so that’s cool. Water/poison, gets some sea snake elements as it evolves. Not a waifu.
>bug and bird
Bug = mosquito. Maybe bug poison, dark or psychic. The bird really ought to be a pelican, but we have one already. Maybe a spoonbill instead? They’re cool and distinctive-looking. Either water/flying or fairy/flying. Regional rodent can be a squirrel that evolves into a nutria.
>unique mons
Ghost/grass special attacking Spanish moss that gets an ability that lets draining moves grant more hp. New ghost type giga drain is introduced.
Really strong grass/fighting type fleur de lis with defeatist.
Mask that changes type and appearance based on its primary move, gets at least one good move for every type (brave bird = feathered, poison jab = long plague doctor nose, etc.).
Grass/fire green anole with a red leaf dewlap that holds fire, tons of speed, and a good move pool, featuring combative moves like wild charge, flare blitz, wood hammer. Gets reckless.
Grass/water cypress knee eventually grows into a full tree.
>pseudo
I was going to do an alligator, but they’re too iconic to not make a starter. So maybe a massive voodoo doll. Either a bulky ghost/fighting or ghost/normal. No recovery
