>Start off on a small, little known island off west a la B&W2

>Get your first pokemon (Gen 3 starters), pokedex have1st battle

>Land right below Rustboro city (entrance to city is blocked off forcing you to go to petalburg)
>Get badges in order of: Petalburg -> Dewford -> Rustboro -> Mauville -> Lavaridge-> Fortree -> Lilycove -> Mossdeep (now a dark type gym) -> Sootopolis
>Face your rival after every gym (though not immediately)
>He becomes less friendly towards you after every battle
>Begins hating you by the 4th gym
>Reforms team aqua in sapphire and team magma in ruby
>Tells them he’s all for expanding the ocean/land
>They begin hunting kyogre/groudon
>You stop their plans every once in a while until the 8th gym
>You get a holocast from professor birch
>Joey caught Kyogre/Groudon and has challenged you to a match at the top of mount Pyre
>Joey tricked team aqua/magma into helping him catch Kyogre/Groudon; doesn’t give a fuck about land/ocean expansion
>You go to mount pyre

>He tells you about his plan
>Then tells you about how he can’t possibly lose to you because the blue/red orb will unleash the ultimate pokemon
>Que battle
>5 regular Pokemon he has throughout his journey and his last is a Kyogre/Groudon
>Mega evolves
>Blue/Red orbs were actually mega stones
>Defeat him
>He storms off furiously
>Team aqua/magma disband after realizing they were duped
>Go to elite 4
>Same types as before only ice is replaced with fairy
>Champion is joey
>Rematch (his pokemon are a higher level)
>Defeat him
>He concedes that you are the best trainer
>Inducts you into hall of fame
>Apologizes and releases Kyogre/Groudon after credits
>Kyogre is in an deepsea cavern and Groudon is inside the volcano by Fallarbor town
>Holding their mega-stones
