In the distant past, Yanma were flightless until they became Yanmega and were able to actively hunt prey in the skies. Alola Yanmega found competition for food sources in the sky with many others so ones that kept the wingless aquatic predator of ancient Yanma traits as Yanmega were able to out reproduce the more typical ones to extinction. It inhabits freshwater habits such as lakes and rivers and is dificult to see while sleeping on the bottom of them. It uses powerful propulsion from its rear to move around and stabs prey with its harpoon-like legs and chews it apart while it never lets go. Compared to the Yanmega that are encountered in other regions, Alola Yanmega have much greater speed and physical attack and slightly better defense, but takes a massive hit to the special attack and has dreadful special defense.
