But the question invariably becomes, just like you said, what DOES make a good design then? Because even disregarding any aspects of their designs I mentioned and others they might have, isn't the way they inspire an uncritical appreciation in many people in itself a mark of a great design? Is that not exactly what a great design aspires to do?
