It would be too risky for branding etc. We see this in how they seemingly also reinforce that "Ash is 10 years old and will never age" and in how his "ending" was more of putting him away until he's needed.This pretty much, now that Anipoke has left Ash behind and seems to be following a formula similar to Adventures, one can only hope the Anime can give their main characters a real conclusion to their stories.
