>>40074858The cat sìth. They’re large, black fairy cats with a white spot on their chest, and they originate from Scottish mythology. They have some fascinating lore behind them; one story goes that an old man who was walking home encountered a group of feline pallbearers carrying a small coffin, who told him that their king Tim Toldrum was dead, asking the man to pass on the message to Tom Tildrum. When the man arrived home and bemusedly told his wife the story, their old cat Tom got up and exclaimed, “What?! Old Tim dead! Then I'm the King o' the Cats!” He then raced up the chimney and was never seen by the old couple again. This myth was likely based on Scotland’s wildcat species, the Kellas cat. I would love to see GameFreak interpret this myth, as it’s one of my favorites.
