Briar before the timeskip said that she's already seen Paradox Pokemon and a different Terapagos, and Carmine's dialogue ("Who cares what the other folks think?") implies that the Kitakami events had already happened as well, and the fact that she's no longer on edge unlike when we first reunite with her on the academy implies that Kieran's "emo phase" is over.
However this is all under the assumption that the events of the game actually happen on Horizon's timeline, and exactly the way they were presented there.
Ultimately, I don't think it really matters. What I think happened is: the anime team used Indigo Disk Kieran's sprite sheet as a basis without thinking too much about it as he wasn't planned to have a role, just a cameo.
