Hews decided to pull a -3IQ cue ball brain move and draw white Nessa and claim he was doing it because he was upset that the comic strip artist from the original scenario was harassed (even though they handled the situation and wanted to avoid this) and something about artists don't really care about what their art means and he was trying to bait people. A hand full of SEA artist do the same thing, and it start a trend of people purposefully drawing white Nessa to own the ess jay double yous. There's also people drawing Nessa blue, pink, or whatever going, " see nessa can be whatever color" kind of missing where everything started. Someone edited a white Nessa and replied to Nintendo's promo of her saying they "fixed her", so that ma ave sewed the seeds for this discourse possibly since it got a lot of attention.
The overwhelming majority of people drawing Nessa aren't involved in any of this, and every once in a while a see a posts that gains a bit of traction with a reasonable take on what's happening. People attacking artists over criticism they have of their work, and people getting upset then doing shit just to get a reaction out of someone else instead of either of them being more understanding and trying to start a reasonable discussion is pretty childish and is what's mostly to blame for all of this. Honestly, people here are making a bigger deal out of it that it really is.
