But they've never done that for a remake before, which is why they went out of their way to remove character customization from Hoenn because it was meant to be the regional gimmick for Kalos.

But ORAS doesn't contradict anything from XY. The only argument you could even make there is the comment about Fairy type being a fairly recent discovery but even then, "recent" in the science world can mean anything under a century old-- HIV and AIDS are still considered recent discoveries in real life but no one says you retconned how it works when you spread it by saying bullshit like this.

Pokemon games have always discretely taken place in one part of a greater multiverse and that's not a bad thing. Gen 5 had the most creative use of this like in pic related.
