I'm wondering now how best to deal with the fact that Pokemon evolving into ones with different exp curves apparently causes problems. I'm not sure exactly what would happen but the randomizer explicitly mentions it's unwise. Either I could try it out and see what fucks up, or I could edit all Pokemon to have the same exp curve.
