GameFreak's game development cycle is just fucked, period.
They'll only support SV for a very short time, and that's only because it's likely getting DLC like SwSh. Most of GameFreak has already moved on from SV and are working on future projects like whatever remake we get next and gen 10. They won't expand or reorganize their company because of stubbornness, even though they easily have the budget to do so. They can't even be bothered to have the time avaliable to optimize their games, so they end up having issues like what SV released to. If game development on multiple projects is too demanding, they could outsource side projects like remakes to other studios. Of course they find a way to fuck that up too by relying on a no-name studio to release a near 1:1 remake with all the flaws of the original for "nostalgia". It was much easier to develop multiple projects at once when they were only releasing games on the GBA and DS, which weren't nearly as demanding. Once they transitioned to 3D games, they didn't expand or reorganize to account for the increased development 3D games have over 2D games, and we see time and time again how that affects the newer games. Get with the times or be left to rot.
