>>56236078The break system is genuinely dogshit in Super, so it's tied to RNG for the most part. "Stronger" Pokemon, like those above the protagonist duo's level and legendaries, have a higher shot at being on break, and also stay on break longer than ones at around the protag duo's level. Even Pokemon at the same level or lower go on break though.
In theory, this is meant to "encourage teambuilding" and varying things up, but in execution it's fucking garbage because it just means teams you want to build would be impossible to use if any of the three are on break-- and because the protag duo never go on break, they end up being the only Pokemon you use and dump statboosters on.
The way to circumvent this is to dump all your items and money in the deposit box, go on a mission, and immediately give up to pass the day. The fact that there's a workaround for the system too shows how dogshit it is
