Usually, people who are inherently talented at coding are bad at other things, like writing, balancing, spriting, etc. Same with any other art, have you SEEN when talented artists try to put dialogue in their lewd images, for example? Lots of misplaced apostrophes and terrible sentence structure, makes it seem like a miracle that they can even speak, but god can they draw well. Vice versa with writers.
tl;dr: you need a team, one or two people can only accomplish so much. Doesn't help that the people with enough free time to learn the archaic, bizarre language of romhacking are usually teens who are:
A. Edgy
B. Pretty fucking stupid/inexperienced
