I got this copy of Emerald a while back. The seller told me the battery was dead, but she'd solder in a new one. I paid for it, it worked and didn't think much else of it.
Cue me getting a Tri-Wing screwdriver a few months later for something unrelated, and I decide to open the cart for the hell of it, wondering how easy it could be to replace the battery in the future when it died.
And then I see pic-related. I don't know if it's because the previous battery leaked, if it was the piss poor soldering job the lady did, or just some random liquid that got into the cart. Whatever It is, it's rock solid now.
And the battery stopped working shortly after that, also.
