They do this to make the characters more relatable to their own ~*~*trans struggles~*~*~ But then there's also the people that (will probably never admit it to themselves) change characters to be trans or racebend to appease other tumblrinas. Like, they do it to make their art "inclusive" cause otherwise everyone looks cis and white. OR they do it because they fetishize transness in some sort of strange way (where they view it as more desirable than being cis). What's funny is there have been artists that have been called out for this behavior but try to act like nothing's wrong.
