>>49961310There's the obvious stuff like fire type with soft fur at just the right hight = nice warm cuddles and the tough/cool disposition making him a great protector/battle partner. Plus personal reasons, the first pokemon I got to raise in a game myself was a male cyndaquil that very quickly evolved into a typhlosion so he will always hold a special place in my heart, was never very social growing up and the friends I did have didn't care much for video games until later on so I spent a lot of time by myself imagining my adventures with my pokemon, kids become hormonal teenagers and hormonal teens with no social skills but plenty of internet access get into weird stuff until they're adults in much the same situation so it was probably inevitable that those fantasies would slowly end up on the "childhood friends -> first love -> marriage" track.
