>>49134547In BW days, where Corocoro magazine revealed news every month, either new characters or new Pokemon or whatever, it would be endless threads. We had a lot to talk about, because there was a constant stream of information. And then we had to even wait for news on the English localization because worldwide releases of both the games and information weren't a thing at the time. It was Japanese news/games first, then a few months later the localizations. There was a lot to talk about from theories on what the story was about, which Pokemon was going to be on your team, what the names would be outside of Japan (maybe you've heard of Smugleaf? Wotter?) and most of all fake leaks. They were EVERYWHERE, but they still were something to talk about.
With the death of new info through Corocoro and only updates coming from official news sources like the website and the youtube channel, so too did the magazine leaks die. Leaks now are just guys like Centro regurgitating shit posted by slightly more credible sources like Khu. There's a lot less effort now. Even those guys get stingy with info.
The attitude of the fanbase is also different now that so many people have essentially lost faith in GF after the dexcut. More people are jaded because it's beginning to show that Pokemon as a game is beginning to become too big for it's breeches. It'll always sell, but things aren't going to be the same anymore. It's hard to be hyped when you know the quality won't compare to what we used to have before due to ridiculous deadlines making GF and their undersized team cut corners.
Also the marketing just really sucks, they're being too quiet and not showing anything substantial. Might even say they showed PLA too early and didn't have enough promo material to spread out across the year. We did just get info on H. Voltorb and the two clan leaders, but other than that, the silence has been deafening. I want to see more wardens already holy fuck.
