I rarely hear any arguments about its competitive viability though (not that I expected a slow but bulky Fire type to be particularly useful), so that's interesting to note.

Rhyperior was a questionable design choice that I understood disliking more than with Emboar. I always thought Rhydon was a little nothing though, like a lot of Gen 1 designs really, and Rhyperior gave it a little more character and helped it stand out as something other than "bipedal rhino". I don't quite know why they decided to make it orange though.
