After what feels like an eternity of grinding (why does half my team have the Slow EXP group) Mt. Chimney Maxie and Flannery are both down! Dragon Rage Gyarados really does make short work of that Torkoal and Calenture's Bubblebeam took care of the rest! At first I was disappointed that I got Route 111 boulder'd with a Geodude but then I remembered that Norman was up next and with that Impish nature Greave should be able to take a few hits, Faint Attack notwithstanding. I considered using a Pinwheel-styled clause on the desert but ultimately decided against it since the Mirage Tower exists and the Geodude came from the rock on the one required time that you have to smash it to continue.
Still not getting the most varied of catches, hopefully that changes after Surf!
