I don't know how out of all the voice actors of the anime, the one that had to develop a weird throat disease to prevent her from acting just had to be May. Like imagine if this happened to Misty's VA, would we really never see Misty again? I dunno.
It's just so messed up it doomed May to never reappear. Iris and Serena got massive development and changes, Lillie is getting closure to the Mohn arc, Misty got Mega's in SM and became stronger, Dawn at least got to go on some adventures and got specials.
May really is going to be the only main girl without a return this series. It's so jarring to see one female companion ignored like this when everyone else gets to come back.
