Let's list some important positive aspects of Pokemon XY:
-Good level curve
-Pokemon selection like no other
-Actually creative Gym Leader teams (most of them at least)
-Intuitive multiplayer interface and functions
-Graphics rather well executed for first 3DS titles
-The OST has many hits in it (Lysandre's theme, the Legendary battle theme, Laverre City's theme among other city themes, etc.)
-The Gym layouts are great
-The region layout, while not including the best Gym rate, forms a solid map with expansive routes yet a good (but not excessive) amount of linearity
-Rather interesting gimmicks (Character customization, Pokemon-Amie, and the extra useful Super Training)
-Hordes (great way to EV train, Shiny hunt and look for hidden abilities)
