So in SwSh, since your OC is already hitting that age, make this his mentor arch. He's already the champion of many regions. You mentioned he has a little sister, just continue her story while pretending your original OC is mentoring her on the sideline.
According to leaks theres also supposed to be a PWT style battle thing post game. Your original PC can make a reappearance there. With either a Galar Team or his post-Battle tree team.
Maybe he loses in the Galar PWT and this encourages him to get off his ass and teain in the Galar region. Maybe taking in the Galar league himself.
Or you can just reboot.
