Not only does it give the game a little more depth and purpose, but god damn it just feels so comfy knowing that it’s also early AM in the Johto countryside as well. I wish to god there was weather in Johto.
I watched a review recently that painted Gen 2 in a light I hadn’t seen yet, that being, yes the post game is a little weak level-wise, but that it was done so to make sure we don’t get too wrapped up in grinding and grinding and leveling and leveling when there’s all these fuckin chill time based comfy things to participate in. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love a better way to train for Red and Stadium 2, but thinking about it in that regard really does make sense considering this was the intended last game in the series.
>tfw game freak wanted us to literally live in Johto and listen to the radio and pick apricorns and catch bugs and call our friends and catch Pokémon in the wee morning and late night and not worry about grinding. Just literally vibe out in Johto I will never leave
