My luck really has been all over the place this run. Found another shiny while grinding Mel for the Wally fight.

People bitch about the surfing speed in Gen4 but Gen3 feels exponentially slower since the routes are longer and I have no idea where I am going. The encounters do get dull but my biggest gripe with them is that they give no exp. Underwater is pretty much the only safe place to grind at this point.
