I'm not even a Serena fan at all, I don't like her concept, personality, or goal. I think showcases were a boring addition to a series that long should have shed the need to include a 'designated girly segment'.
That being said, like any other companion, I want her to return and get a positive episode for her fans and for me. Journeys has mostly done justice to returning characters, sans Dawn. Alola gang, Iris, Volkner, Drake, Brock, and especially Gary have all gotten great returns that highlighted their characters and gave them something to do in relation to the main characters.
I think not wanting another character to return just to spite their fans is weak shit. I'm a pretty active Serena disliker but they could surprise me. If she returns and is generally boring like I remember her being, it's only one episode and at least I like Ash & Go who are always present. I'm rooting for her and everyone else's MULTIPLE returns.
