There's a lot of mono-Fighting types with Guts, Iron Fist, etc. so I wanted to think of a niche that hadn't really been filled yet. So I thought of the rather uncommon ability, Simple. With Simple, M-Primeape can use Bulk Up to double its Attack and Defense in one turn. And Primeape can snag a +1 Attack before Mega-evolving with Defiant if brought into an Intimidator. The downside is that Close Combat's tradeoff skyrockets in riskiness with the defense drops, but M-Primeape can also use Simple Hone Claws to increase the viability of Cross Chop. All it would need to be beautiful is Drain Punch, which honestly it's weird that it doesn't have already. And with a base Speed matching Garchomp, it might be breddy gud in UU.
Another idea was Technician, which Primeape has a TON of moves to take advantage of (Technician Revenge = -4 priority STAB move with 180 BP if damage is taken that turn, 90 BP Rock and Ground moves that reduce foe's Speed, 90 BP Flying coverage, etc.) but it didn't make sense thematically, I felt. Maybe Mega-Hitmontop would be a cool candidate for that. A third idea was a custom ability that increased the power of thrash moves like Thrash and Outrage, but it didn't seem useful or novel enough to necessitate its invention.
