As for the ToTT, have a whole OC region instead that I've used for a tabletop thing for a long time. Inspired by recently replaying Morrowind + Tamriel Rebuilt and looking through the design documents I decided to rename almost everything into a 'native language', but I'm beginning to think it's not such a good idea. This is the Three Realms, a superegion is made of three distinct subregions with cultures centering around Fire, Water and Grass types.
Each city is also centered around a type, and each realm has its own language which I didn't really think through and is a horrible mashup of different languages for each Realm + references to Pokemon names. The Three Realms (though whether or not three realms really refers to physical geography or not is debated) are united in the middle by a Dragon city, seat of the Dragon Emperor, although the power of the imperial line has waned long ago and is now ceremonial.
Trainers with the strength and will set out on 'pilgrimages', reenacting the acts of heroes in ages past by visiting each realm and city to pass the trials. Until recently, they were called gyms, but the old term 'Trial' has seen a resurgence. They always involve a battle with a trial leader after passing it, and what they're like usually takes some concept from the type. The bug trial involves surviving in a jungle for several days with minimal supplies, and the water trial involves sailing around a set of islets to find a hidden island, which could take over a week depending on your luck and ability to understand the sea. Very few bother to go for more than a few before deciding to get on with their lives.
Would you adventure here? I have a lot of lore that I will dig into or make up on the spot if you ask.
