I shiny hunted for a Japanese Emerald Mew for the Mewtwo event only to find out I can't even use the changed to the nickname mechanic because the game sees the Japanese name as a nickname because it's not specifically "Mew" even though it's an unnicknamed Pokemon. From what I could find out, I'd have to start a new profile in Japanese SPECIFICALLY to nickname it, in which case I might not be able to do so in English characters. Just let me fucking nickname MY OWN POKEMON.
