Fantina was really easy. A little harder than Gardenia and Maylene - the latter of which I now realize I didn't even write an update post about (not much to report, Kurt and Selene murdered everything she had) - but still really easy. This all because of my new capture from the Great Marsh, a Sharpedo, who you will note is *not* in the Sinnoh dex and can only be obtained with the use of the Super Rod, which I got a little early by tweaking through the southern gate on Route 225.
I didn't realize the Great Marsh was this game's Safari Zone, so I amended the rules a little bit. My usual rule for the Safari Zone in Nuzlockes is you get one/ encounter per area, and out of those encounters, you can only keep one. The Carvanhas in Areas 5 and 6 fled, and Deep Blue was the one for Area 1.
Anyway, I get the feeling that Fantina is ordinarily supposed to be somewhat difficult, but Deep Blue OHKO'd everything with Crunch. God bless.
Sasuke is officially stronger than Selene now that he's a Staraptor with Close Combat. There's a part of me that wants to turn him loose on Byron, but Byron also has a Bastiodon that's probably packing a Rock-type move, so I don't know if the risk is worth it or not, even though it has a 4x weakness to a Fist Plate-boosted Close Combat.
Next stop is Canalave City. I used the Super Rod on Route 218 to get a pretty beefy Lumineon encounter (lv. 32), which I haven't put on the image because I haven't gone to the PC to check its nature, moves, etc. yet.
If anyone has any team suggestions from what I have in the box, I'd like to hear them. Thinking of boxing Selene.
