I'm currently playing through Yellow with the intention of planning the team around being able to send all six of them to Sun and Moon and use them as a team there in online or in the battle tree, with proper strategies in mind.
I've set some purist limits on myself additionally, namely that while the final movesets in gen 7 can use newer moves, the team itself should stay as gen 1 Pokemon - so no using a Scyther and then evolving it into a Scizor for example.
