This is another aspect the piece of shit that's gen 4 ruined.
The type used to be shit because their Pokemon used to be really slow and have very low special defense (i.e. Steelix, Magneton, Skarmory, Aggron). Bulky steel types used to have shit offensive (i.e Forretress) or bad movepool (i.e Scizor).
But then gen 4 added that piece of shit that's Heatran in top of giving Skarmory Roost, along retarded moves like Stealth rock that made Steel more viable after the meta was run by Choice Scarf Outrage Dragon pseudos.
