When I was a kid, I didn't have internet.
I guess internet became cheaper at some point, because one day we would get internet despite my family never making more money then we always did.
But I digress, I had cable, and I had video games.
One day Pokemon was on and James was being followed by a Cacnea, something clicked, I feel in love with it.
I would draw it constantly during school and at home, and as someone in a poor area with no access to public internet, I didn't know what it or if it could evolve into, so I got to work.
I looked all over Ruby for it, and eventually I finally found one.
I would finally be able to see what it becomes.
I just needed to keep leveling it up, to what level I didn't know, but I kept at it all week.
Now I should mention that I was only allowed to play my Gameboy for 1 hour a day, so keep that in mind as I spend the most of my time playing just grinding against the Pokemon in route 111.
Maybe it's a form of Stockholm syndrome, but the daily grind endeared me to Cacnea, and eventually the fruit of my labor, Cacturne.
