I've spent a very long and autistic amount of time researching the history behind Reborn, and the alleged IRL events that inspired things in the game, like the suicide, Dr Electrorape, the lesbian drama, the adoptions, custody issues, and so on. Does anyone want to me to summarise what I've found?

Exhibit A, a gym leader kills himself after you beat him either because of inane bullshit, or if you do a sidequest his motivations make mildly more sense as he's been exposed as an evil team leader.

To make matters worse, Reborn has history as a RP group over pokebattle simulators, and the events of a fuckload of characters happen to be based off things that happened IRL. This suicide here? It actually happened. This guy's player killed himself, and his online friends decided to immortalize him in this game.

Reborn has some history that makes this even worse. The game was built off a RP league based off a roleplaying forum and this guy was one of the players who wound up killing himself.
