Smogon itself is not entirely competitive because rather than adapting to new realities, their change-resistant community votes to ban them. That's not what it means to be competitive.
If you play by Smogon rules, you are not a competitive Pokemon trainer - not completely, anyway.
Learn to accept the luck that is involved with the game. Change your strategies and teams to deal with threats, rather than try to have them banned like a coward.
I have three PC boxes of fully-trained Pokemon, all ready to go and counter all of the top threats. Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Gengar, Blaziken, I can deal with them all. Why? Because I'm not a pussy. Because I'm actually competitive.
