This also applies to middle stages. What if a Pokemon gets a third stage in a later generation? Do the rules change?
>>45587254There's an encapsulation problem analogous to the OSI model where you have the drawn Pokemon design itself (the immaterial signifier), and you have the world with rules about how it behaves (the immaterial signified, the Umwelt), and you have yourself (the material and immaterial interpretant and worldview).
A big problem is how the rules are not consistent between games and the anime, even from year to year, even within the same game. Fan artists can draw off-model, but some official designs have changed over time too. Everything must be done in good faith.
