>>49367719This is a negative opinion I can respect. If you like those sort of games this is definitely going to feel like an inferior experience.
However, I've never really been able to get into monster hunter, and I've tried a few times. It's complex, and its complexity is hard to grasp and requires me to commit serious time into learning the game's systems before I can start having fun.
Call me an inferior gamer, casual, or small-minded, but I generally prefer simpler games, as all I want to do when I get home is turn off my brain and have some fun. I've played and liked more complex games, but when I look at pokemon, that's just not the experience I'm looking for.
Over the past 5+ years I've been insanely bored by every pokemon game I've played, having to force myself to trudge through USUM and just not being able to be bothered to finish any other game since except for new snap. I'm really surprised this is the first pokemon game since ORAS that has managed to keep me engaged for longer than the first 5 hours, without having to reach into my inner autist to find the willpower to plow through it.
