So a common thread of thought I've seen around /vp/ is this insistence that people who like Pokemon GO or are excited for LGPE are stupid and can't handle complex or difficult games. Yet whenever the question as to why these people are stupid comes up, for the most part, the response is citing how the two games play, not the people themselves. And I've met several long-time Pokemon players who enjoy GO as well, but for different reasons from the main games.
Do you think it's possible - if LGPE is indeed not including series staples such as held items or abilities as many of us suspect - that it's GameFreak and Nintendo patronizing GO players, assuming they can't handle them? Because if this game is supposed to be a "gateway game" into the main series, it's weird to not include mechanics that have been staples of the series since generations 2 and 3.
