The marketing seemed to put more emphasis on the stadium but Mewtwo's castle was neat and wish we saw more angles of it, with all of the curved foundations and railings and stained glass windows. One of the perks of the 3D version.
>>48232941If I recall my translated interviews, the first concept for the movie would have had Mewtwo first appear in his entrance on New Island, or a similar "villain reveal", but that changed because the viewer would obviously not know who Mewtwo is and what lead him there. They could have tied the build up more heavily into the TV show, but making the movie as self-contained as possible sounds like the better choice. The need for a time jump so Mewtwo can build his castle meant the movie was going to be jumpy regardless.
