Honedge should be sheathed in battle, briefly unsheathing itself for its attack animations. Half the design is the blade, which is boring. At least the sheath is nice to look at. Its attack animation probably consists of spinning at the opponent, whereas it could have a much cooler kenjutsu-esque animation.
I think that this would make the design look a lot more interesting and give it more personality.
